Own the internet's
land.

Every domain is a plot of land online. Namestead gives each one an on-chain deed, so you can sell it in seconds, borrow against it, or split it into shares. It keeps working as a normal website the whole time.

Deed lookup

Every name
has a title.

Search any domain to see its deed: who holds it, what it's worth, and whether it's for sale. Unclaimed names can be registered and minted in one step.

How it works

Registrar record in. Deed out.

01

Bring the name in

Transfer a domain to our accredited partner registrar, or register a new one. DNS and email keep running the whole time.

02

Prove control

We confirm ownership with a TXT record and your registrant contact, then lock the name against off-chain transfers.

03

Mint the deed

A deed token lands in your wallet. Whoever holds the deed controls the domain, and the registrar record follows it.

04

Put it to work

Sell it, borrow against it, split it into shares, or hold it. Renewals pay out of the deed's own escrow.

Land that
moves.

Selling a premium domain still means weeks of escrow and email. With a deed, the sale, the payment and the DNS handover happen in one transaction.

Trade

Sell in
one block

List at a fixed price or take offers. The buyer gets the deed and DNS control together, with no escrow agent in the middle.

Borrow

Lend against
a name

Lock a deed as collateral and borrow stablecoins. The domain keeps resolving while the loan is open, so your site stays up.

Share

Split into
shares

Divide one premium name into up to 10,000 shares. Holders earn from leases or a future sale and vote on buyout offers.

Found your own extension.

Communities, games and brands can open an on-chain extension of their own. Members register names under it, and part of every registration goes to the namespace treasury.

Build on deeds

The SDK handles lookups, listings, loans and DNS updates, so wallets and marketplaces can show domains next to every other asset a user holds.

Before you stake a claim.

Is my domain still a normal domain?

Yes. It stays with an ICANN-accredited registrar and resolves through regular DNS. The deed adds on-chain ownership on top of the registry record.

What if I lose my wallet?

Set a recovery address when you mint. If both are lost, the registrar's standard dispute process still covers the underlying domain.

Who pays renewals?

The deed holder. Prepay up to ten years into the deed's escrow and renewals are paid from it. Deeds with under 30 days of escrow are flagged on every listing.

Which extensions work?

At launch: .com, .net, .org, .ai, .xyz and .io, plus every on-chain namespace. More are added as registrar partners come online.

What does it cost?

Minting is free apart from network gas. Sales carry a 0.5% fee. Loan and share fees are shown before you confirm.
